Starting to dance at the age of four began my lifelong love of the performing arts. Over 20 years ago I crossed over to visual arts/photography with my first 35mm camera, a Nikon (go figure). Today I shoot with Canon. Living in Aspen at the time, I learned to capture the natural beauty of the nature that surrounded me.
Many of my roles in the performing arts involved choreography. Choreographers must “picture” spacing, movement and capturing characters. This is how I view my photography. My goal is to capture the essence of each person, place or event and frame it with the perfect spacing, background and after effects that create the complete piece of art. The photos speak for me and portray my love and deep appreciation for the art of photography.
Having spent most of my life participating in a wide variety of athletics; rock climbing, snowboarding, English equitation & water skiing to name a few, has helped me capture the athleticism and pure joy of sports!
In my early days of film photography, I received several awards for my black & white portraits. These were my focus. More recently, my awards have been for my landscapes and sport photography.
My mission is to preserve a moment in time with each photo I take.
I am particularly proud of having one of my images published on the cover of "MMA Main Event Magazine".
